Apprenticeships in Grimsby & Barrow

We have partnered with the Grimsby Institute and Furness College to offer new offshore wind turbine technician apprenticeships on the East and West coast.

The programme

The new three-year apprenticeships will comprise of one year of classroom-based learning followed by two years working on site with Ørsted.

Our apprentices study to earn a Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician (MOET) qualification, which incorporates a BTEC Level 3 in Engineering. The MOET qualification gives our apprentices core knowledge, skills and behaviours needed for industry and, if they successfully complete the programme, will become full-time employees at Ørsted.

Duncan Clark, Programme Director for Hornsea Project One

"These roles are exciting and varied – not every job can offer a breath-taking view of the UK coastline!”

Next round of applications

Where will the apprenticeship roles be based?

Apprenticeship opportunities are based at our four operations sites in Grimsby, Barrow-In-Furness, Gunfleet Sands (Brightlingsea, Essex) and Burbo Bank (Wallasey, Birkenhead).

Where can I get more information?

We’re sorry, applications for our apprenticeship scheme are now closed for this year.

We will announce the next round of apprenticeship opportunities in 2020.
