One of Europe's leading energy businesses has brought together nearly 500 UK staff at new offices in Central London.
The company, which has invested over £6 billion in the UK over the last decade, has consolidated its London offices by becoming the anchor tenant in the award-winning Howick Place development in Victoria when staff moved in today (Monday 12 October).
Staff from DONG Energy's offshore wind, oil and gas, and customer and markets businesses now occupy 81,000 square feet of accommodation over five floors of the building. The new accommodation replaces offices in Grosvenor Place and The Strand.
Brent Cheshire, DONG Energy's UK Country Chairman said: "The move to a new office highlights the rapid growth of our business in the UK which began with a small group of people sharing our first London office in 2004. The UK has become an important market for us and we have more than 650 employees spread from London to Liverpool, Barrow to Grimsby, Ramsgate to Brightlingsea, and as far north as Aberdeen."
He added: "The new office allows us to bring our London-based staff together and provides contemporary facilities which will enhance collaboration and allow for future growth. At the same time we will remain close to important London-based stakeholders."
DONG Energy is the global leader in offshore wind energy with over 3,000 megawatts of capacity in operation across Northern Europe. In the UK its operational wind farms already produce over 2,200 MW and a further 2,700 MW of capacity is under construction or in its development pipeline.
DONG Energy's Exploration & Production business is among the biggest holders of licences in the West of Shetlands region, while its energy supply business is the third largest player in the UK industrial and commercial gas supply market.
