DONG Energy welcomes announcement of UK plans for ratification of Paris climate change agreement

DONG Energy has welcomed the Prime Minister’s announcement that the UK will complete domestic procedures to enable ratification of the Paris agreement on Climate Change before the end of the year.
UK Country Chairman Brent Cheshire said: “We are delighted to see that the UK is continuing to show leadership on the international climate change agenda as the Government starts the process which will lead to ratification of the Paris Climate Change Agreement. It yet again shows the direction of travel internationally and helps reassure investors in the low carbon technology of the future. Offshore wind can build on the role it is already playing in helping the UK meet its climate targets so that we remain a world leader in the technology.”
 
In her first address to the UN General Assembly, Prime Minister Theresa May said: “We will continue to play our part in the international effort against climate change. And in a demonstration of our commitment to the agreement reached in Paris, the UK will start its domestic procedures to enable ratification of the Paris agreement, and complete these before the end of the year.”
