Ørsted is happy to announce an onsite work experience programme for young people in Year 10 at their East Coast Hub in Grimsby. The programme will run from 7-11 July 2025.
The five-day programme aims to provide students with valuable real-world experience in the renewable energy sector, developing their understanding of the industry and raising awareness for future career pathways.
Engineering UK reports a significant skills shortage but has observed an increase of 55% of job adverts, in the last five years, for green engineering jobs.*
The chosen group will have the chance to engage with professionals, gain hands-on experience, and explore the different roles available in the industry – not just offshore.

Last year, the work experience was so sought after Ørsted saw over 300 young people apply for the ten spaces.
Harriet Farmery, community engagement officer at Ørsted, said: “This is a great opportunity for local young people to come and get a real feel for what working in Ørsted is like. There will be opportunities to talk with people who work offshore and climb our turbines day-to-day to people who are office-based helping keep everyone safe and our lights on.”
