Since opening in 2020, Thrive has trained over 8,200 people, with 96.9% positive feedback received. This has set a new benchmark for safety leadership across the Humber’s rapidly developing renewables sector and beyond, supporting companies in renewables, maritime, and related industries to build safer cultures.
Thrive delivers a hard-hitting, multi-media scenario that examines the build-up to a fatal incident on a load-out operation and its consequences. With high-quality production values and industry-leading technology, the programme immerses participants emotionally and practically in the realities of safety-critical decision-making - driving sustained behavioural change that is difficult to achieve with traditional desktop training.
The centre was established through Ørsted’s £1.4 million investment in partnership with ATT and has served as a legacy for the Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm project, with all personnel working on Hornsea 2 inducted through Thrive. The programme has also generated wider economic benefits, bringing over 60 new jobs and contracts to the Humber region, with local production crew, actors, and construction personnel all engaged to build and deliver the experience.
Hornsea 3 then funded the operations of Thrive as part of the development of the project. Ørsted is proud to support Thrive. With safety as the number one priority, the immersive experience is like no other, it leaves a lasting impact and helps keep safety at the forefront of Ørsted’s teams’ minds.
