The East Coast Hub in Grimsby is opening applications for a five-day work experience programme for Year 10 students, taking place in July. Ten students will be able to see into the hidden world of offshore wind through hands-on experience to a range of careers and day-to-day operations across the energy sector.

Throughout the week, participants will meet and hear from different teams, take part in practical activities and explore a variety of roles and career pathways.

“This work experience week is a fantastic way for local young people to see what’s possible,” said Harriet Farmery, Community Engagement Officer. “By meeting our teams and trying out activities across health and safety, communications, and technician roles, students can connect their interests to real careers, build confidence, and take the next step toward a lowcarbon future.”

The programme has been running for several years and has seen young people inspired into different careers within offshore wind. It is designed to help students build confidence, develop workplace skills, and make informed choices about future education and career routes.

There will be a chance for Years 11 and above to apply for work experience in August, details to be announced soon.
